Another Weekend @ Dada’s
Henry, Ben and I all went to Dada's last night. The worst part of the drive was getting out of the city, it took us forever to reach the Holland Tunnel, and there were a lot of morons in the two lanes for the Holland Tunnel who at the last second realized they were in the wrong lane. It took them 45 minutes to realize they were going the wrong way???
We started the morning without electricity. Apparently 2800 homes in Macungie were affected and ours was one of them. Ben and Dada painted most of the day while Henry and I babysat the kids. We took them bowling, to Friendly's and practiced some soccer with Jayden, played some tag and had some races. We ran those kids ragged, they will have very very pleasant dreams tonight. And hopefully tomorrow, they won't be up at the crack of dawn to wake us up.
We ended the night with a barbeque for dinner. There were Italian sausages, fresh made burgers and pasta salad. Everything was delicious thanks to Dada.
Weekend @ Dada’s.
It was a beautiful weekend. The days were long, the temperature was hot, there were no children around. Woo hoo! Okay, the children were sorely missed. But we had gotten a lot accomplished. Both Jayden's room and the office are completely painted from ceiling to, yes, carpet. But the carpet park was really accidental. I would put pictures up, but the two I took came out very dark and the colors weren't noticeable.
Jayden's room is a dark blue, and the office is a grayish lavendar. They actually came out real nice. You guys'll see it in a couple of weeks. Well, not Oda. I'll take a better picture for you, Oda. Steve, Dada & I spent all day Saturday, and parts of Sunday, prepping, priming, trimming and painting. As much work as it was, we shelled it out quickly. 3 people, 2 rooms. We were good. Wait, wait.. We ARE good.
Steve & Dada went to pick up some packing equipment from a packing facility. It was a bunch of cardboard boxes and 2 rolls of bubblewrap. It was impossible to fit all of it in the truck, and another person in the back. Also, Dada couldn't see out of her rearview mirror. So plans were made to tie it to the top of the truck. Hard to see, but here's the process.

All through PA & Jersey, there were people staring at our bubblewrap. Some were even pointing. At one point, there was a busload of people just staring at us. Here is the size of one bubblewrap. It's 2 feet wide, 375 feet long, and .5 inch thick. Think about 2 of those on top of the car. Albeit, the sight was a bit humorous.

Jayden’s Musical
Today was Jayden's first musical. It was more like a concert. The whole first grade was onstage singing. And, man, were they cute!!! Jayden, of course, was the cutest. I'd put pictures up, but they came out pretty bad -- very grainy and blurry. My digital zoom sucked, and we were pretty far back. There weren't a lot of people, but we weren't allowed to get too close. I guess they didn't want possible distractions. Anyway, the children did a great job. Jayden's attention span waned, but that's normal of children. Especially those with ADD. It was quite a few songs for these kids to remember. Good thing most of the kids remembered. Some kids were in their own zones. I'll try to edit the pics and get them up. For now......
Bored on a Saturday Night
Dada came down for the weekend, but didn't bring down the kids, to some people's disappointment, all right, to everbody's disappointment, but we still had a family dinner on Saturday, minus Perry and Eric (some one had to watch the kids). Dinner was followed by random chit-chat about who would be on our top 10 lists (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, etc), we had trouble thinking of hot men, I would add Eric Dane aka McSteamy and Michael Vartan, but I was the only one who knew who they are. There were also discussions on Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and X-Men. After a few hours of random topics and trying to figure out what to do with five of us and only one car, we ended up playing Texas Hold 'Em. Over Texas Hold 'Em, we came up with X-Men names for everybody, yes we were very bored and just a bit nerdy. The names are:
- Ben: Storm
- Dada: Cyclops
- Eric: Juggernaut
- Henry: Magneto
- Oda: Beast
- Perry: Iceman
- Steve: Professor Xavier
I repeat, yes, it was nerdy of us, but we were bored and the card game was taking a long time.
Another Post
Here is a picture of the children with their faces painted. This picture was taken earlier in the month, when we went to a strawberry festival. Kaylee has a picture of a flower on her left cheek, whilst Jayden has a picture of a spider on the right and a spiderweb on the left. What adorable kids!!
