End of Year Wrap-up
It's not really the end of the year but I'm sure no one will post from now until then. So, Steve wants to make a tradition of going to Mexico during Thanksgiving vacation. Sounds like a plan. Now that I'm done with the sightseeing (they don't let you climb the stairs in Chichen Itza anymore), it'll just be pina coladas and mango margaritas on the beach for the four days.
Mexico was amazing. The waters were a beautiful blue. Went snorkeling for the first time and almost died. Okay, not really died but thought I was going to die (but Steve said it was physically impossible- what with the life vest and all). But them fish were scaring me- too close, mon! Just lying out on the beach, drinking drinks, soaking up the sun, listening to the waves, warm and cool at the same time- nothing beats that.
Anyone want to join the tradition?
are you ready for some baseball?!
Well, this spring, the boy decided he would try baseball. I had originally signed him up for Rookies baseball (which is instructional only, with some minor games). There must have been a mix up somewhere because they (the powers that be) stuck my boy on the A league - which is Little League for all you non-suburbanites. So, a kid who has NEVER played baseball, is on a team with kids who have been playing for the past 3 years. As expected, he is not the best player on the team, but he tries very hard, and he practices no less than 5 times a week (twice with the team, and 3 times on our own). Here are some pics from Jayden's first baseball game this past Sunday.
It's lonely out there...
Baseball ready in the right field... where all great players come from...
Like a regular baseball team... only smaller...
The catcher gives his helmet a couple of pats... just like real people...
Wannabe, the J & K Version
This video was taken a while ago, June 24, 2006, to be precise. Henry and I had gone o visit the kids in PA and took them bowling. We were driving around in search of food when the kids started singing. At first we were stunned that they were singing Spice Girls "Wannabe" and had no clue how they knew the song. Eventually we figured out that it was from Chicken Little.
